I couldn't afford much but searched and found the exact winter jacket Josh wanted and found a matching backpack. I told him to get ready for bed that night and he came down in his pajamas with the jacket and backpack on. I told him he wouldn't be able to sleep like that but he refused to take them off and wore them all night in bed. That was my best Christmas present.
I started working in Texas on February 14, 1984, returned to Ohio to get Josh, and we officially moved to Texas February 21, 1984
