Port Aransas Birds

I am not a “birder”, but I like shorebirds a lot and wish I could easily identify more of them, so I’m working on it.

This Great Blue Heron hangs out on the jetty so the fisherman will feed him. Smart bird, but maybe a little lazy…

If you see a GULL (they're a big bird) it might be a herring gull

I can’t tell you how many 1 legged birds I see. Some walks on the beach I get angrier and angrier. They are not resting with 1 leg up — they are hopping around on 1 leg. How the heck do they get up after they sleep??? I’m sure all the amputations are from the string, rope, fishing line, balloon ribbons we allow to get into the ocean. We humans need to clean up our act — along with the environment we share with all the other creatures.

Piping Lover- These little guys have brown backs, white bellies, short dark beaks, and the give away is the orange legs
