Cascade Pass Trail

I was very anxious about the field day I was to be given to go out into the park and hike instead of working the visitor center. I wanted to do Cascade Pass but I was worried about the 7.4 mile length and 1800 feet elevation gain since had never done a hike with that much gain and I was having trouble with my feet and knees. Coming done from Blue Lake was very painful. On top of all that, I was worried the one lane gravel road would scare the crap out of me. I never met an oncoming vehicle both going up and coming back, and while my knees were so painful I wasn’t sure I could make it down, I was totally exhilarated that I did the hike. Cascade Pass is spectacular! As a bonus, it took me into the actual North Cascades National Park boundary and I got to see a bear 🙂
